The Vicálvaro District Board has completed the construction of the Cañaveral II Basic Sports Facility (IDB). The municipal facility opened its doors this week, offering a new outdoor sports venue for residents of El Cañaveral.

Located at the junction of Calle del Diálogo and Calle de la Tolerancia, the IDB covers an area of more than 4,000 square metres dedicated to sports activities. The facility includes a futsal pitch, a basketball court, two minibasket courts, and a state-of-the-art skating rink for people who practice roller sports. All areas are equipped with efficient lighting and are integrated into a landscaped perimeter.

This new facility complements Cañaveral I IDB, which has been in operation since 2022 on Calle de Victoria Kent, further consolidating the neighborhood’s sports infrastructure.

New IDB in El Cañaveral

The municipal commitment to sport and the well-being of El Cañaveral residents continues to advance. Following an investment of more than €975,000 in Cañaveral II, the district is already working on a new project: Cañaveral III IDB, which has a €1 million allocation in the 2026 municipal budget.

With this future facility, Madrid City Council continues to provide the neighborhood with suitable infrastructure for outdoor sports.
